Me

Let's Review!

Well, welcome to my sad excuse for a blog.  I'll start with telling you that I live an extremely normal life.  Like, absurdly normal.  Nothing special over here; just a girl with a passion.

Like almost every 13-70 year old woman I know, I love all things beauty.  Makeup, skincare, hair care, nail polish - you name it.  As part of my normal lifestyle, I have insecurities.  Beauty products are life's Photoshop [I'm extremely not computer-savvy] and they make me feel better about myself and give me this confidence even Ryan Gosling couldn't give me.
The cosmetics department of any store is my safe-haven.  I can pick out products to enhance the features I love about myself (my eyes and my lips) and hide the ones I'm not so keen on.  No, I don't mask myself behind layers of caked-on foundation or 4 pairs of false eyelashes, but with the right amount of product, I feel like I can take on the world.

I'd like to say I'm a self-proclaimed product junkie, but I know I'm far from.  I love reading the reviews and watching YouTube videos of others who share my obsession, too.  I'll buy a few products here and there, try them out, then see what some of these other beauties think about it, too.  Or sometimes I just plain buy what someone raves about.  Do I love it as much as she does?  Does she even have the same skin type/tone as me?  Would I really wear this purple lipstick?  (That answer is yes, by the way.)  She lied to me!  That product was awful!  Everyone has an opinion and I am curious about it.  So why not throw my own in the mix?

Here's a little bit about me:  I'm Italian-American, brown eyes, dark hair.  I have normal-to-dry light olive skin (read: yellowy undertone, but my cheeks gets red.) I tan super easily, but to be honest, I know how bad tanning can be so I'm pretty light most of the year, even though I LOVE me a good bronze skin.  Wrinkles are my enemy.  "Where are my sunglasses, I don't want wrinkles," is a key phrase in my life.   I can be pretty daring with my makeup, so I'll try most anything from purple lipstick to double-winged liner, to colorful eye shadow.  I am by no means a makeup artist (although I would love to be and have even been asked by a few women to "do mine like yours.  It's so pretty.")  I'm working on my makeup application techniques and skills and love learning from others.

Here goes nothing!
